May 29th- Anyone home?

May 29, 2014 Year 3 Day 29
FREE PRETZEL #29

It was bound to happen.  The day in which I go to present a FREE PRETZEL to someone and there are nowhere to be found, or in this case, out to lunch.  It actually did happen once last year, but Kelly Judge came home just in time to see me pulling out of her driveway and still receive her "prize."  This was different.  I did the best I could to check if today's recipient would be home without actually telling him he was getting a FREE PRETZEL.  Alas, it was no use. My good buddy Mike Gamble, who does work from home every day, decided that today would be a good day to have a work lunch in north Jersey.  The nerve!  So when I arrived at his house, during my lunch break, I found 5 adorable little children and his lovely wife JoAnn, she is a stay at home nanny.  They were having a grand time, but Mike was not hard at work in his office. Oh well.  He did call me later on to let me know he loved the FREE PRETZEL.

Lonely FREE PRETZEL(s)
Mike and I have known each other since we were about 3 or 4 years old.  We both attended the Moorestown Presbyterian Church for pre-school, along with Nate Lyall.  Mike celebrates his birthday on June 1st and is the friend with the closest birthday to mine and also happens to be a Gemini like me.  Although our political views may differ now, I won't get into it, Mike is one of my most loyal and oldest friends.  It is always nice to be able to have someone to share a birthday with and with my daughter being born on June 1st, Mike and her are now linked forever.   Pretty cool.
Mike played 3 years of high school golf with me and frequented the sidelines at our home soccer games when me and some of our other buddies were playing.  We spent countless hours at his parents house in Delran when we were kids, playing basketball, goofing to old Adam Sandler CD's and terrorizing the neighborhood.  We also enjoyed some fun go arounds on the tennis courts at Tenby Chase Swimclub.  Man those were good times.
JoAnn saved him his pretzel and then sent me this pic.  Thanks!
Mike just recently offered up a free room at the Borgata in a few weeks for all of us to get together again, for another fun night.  The FREE PRETZEL could easily be for doing his part getting us a room, but it can also just be for being a great friend, even if we are too busy with our kids to hang out anymore.  Ha!  Just kidding, but its closer to being true.  Thanks again Mike and I'll see you in a few weeks in AC!

2 days left

Until tomorrow...
