May 5th- Drinking Pedal Tour thru Philly? Yes Please

I explained earlier how this year would be a little different.  I have asked former recipients to nominate deserving people to now receive a FREE PRETZEL. Well one of the first emails I received was from one of my friends Bethann (Brennan) Lutz.

I love this!

I would like to nominate Holly Logan Stephens (that's her FB name). Holly babysat Jillian for the past 3 months so 

she didn't have to go to day care through the winter. Holly ALWAYS goes above and beyond. She loves Jillian like 

her own children and is so amazing to Brennan, me, and Bob as well. Holly tells it like it is and I LOVE this about 

her. Holly is so generous, kind, and very funny! Anyone who knows Holly can only love her. She is always putting

others before herself and never says a word about it. I can't say enough about her. I could go on and on.

Today we were able to make this deserving FREE PRETZEL submission a reality.  Bethann and her school friends were

having a pre-party at a house in Haddonfield before heading out to a pedal tour in Philadelphia. They invited me over to present

After a little explaining as to why a strange, bald man was crashing their cinco de mayo party I presented Holly with the FREE PRETZEL and the party continued.  Bethann wanted to show how much Holly meant for her so she even wrote a poem about her:

My elementary version of a description of Holly:

Holly

H is for honest, Holly gives it to you straight,
It’s what we love most about her.
Another part of her that makes her so great.

O is for Okay which Holly is NOT
She’s extraordinary, unique,
And she’s a MILF…she’s totes hot!

L is for loving, Holly shows her love
To her family and friends
She goes beyond and above.

L is for listen, Holly always makes time
to hear what you say,
And to drink wine. And prosecco. And champagne. And shots. And beer.

Y is for Yankee, not the baseball team,
She’s a true Philly girl, 
Just living the dream!

They offered me a beer, we shared some stories about the blog and why I was doing it and then the fun kicked into high gear.

Then they announced that they had a sombrero pinata outside filled with alcohol. They decided that I should get the first whack at it.

It took me one light swing and then one real swing, but it quickly spilled out the small plastic bottles of different flavored vodkas.  It was time for them to catch the ubers for the pedal party and it was time for me to go get my pizza before heading to the Volley for Support fundraiser.  

After receiving the FREE PRETZEL Holly said this was the "greatest honor of her life."  This was high praise for the the blog, but she went on to talk about how much she truly loves pretzels and she recounted that when she was in elementary school in Philly they used to get fresh, warm soft pretzels during recess and Charleston Chews.  Pretty cool snack if you ask me.  She was also happy to get some carbs in her before the pedal tour and the pretzel hit the spot.  

It looks like they had a lot of fun and based on the pre-party this is probably an accurate assessment.  This was a pretty cool pretzel experience for me and I hope to get a few more submissions so that I can spread the joy even more.  Thanks so much ladies!
