May 5th- Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby!

FREE PRETZEL #5

Day 5- As I mentioned yesterday, there will be all sorts of reasons why I give the FREE PRETZEL away, but the main reason is to make someone happy!  This is pretty easy since it seems that almost everyone I know loves soft pretzels.  I have talked with many Facebook friends in the past 5 days and the response that people have given me is amazing!  This is just pure joy to me, but I love to hear positives and negatives (if you have them).  I welcome all comments.

I wanted to post a few recent Facebook comments:

My ND friend Melissa Tacey writes: "This is seriously hysterical. I am obsessed with soft pretzels. I'm a May birthday too so feel free to ship one to Chicago!!"

I may have to figure out a way to do this.  Any suggestions?

My Delran buddy Garry channeled his inner Kramer from Seinfeld with:
"Are all of these pretzels making you thirsty?"

Yes Garry they are.  Which brings up a good question.  What is the best beverage to have with a pretzel?  I happen to think it is just plain water.  They go perfectly together.

Other thoughts?

Since today was Kentucky Derby Day and I happen to look forward to that more than I ever would Cinco de Mayo, the pretzel did take in some of the action.

I think that is Churchill Downs?

I think the PRETZEL had the winning horse!

The FREE PRETZEL can do many things to people.  It can make people beg, or drool and even babysit our 3 kids.  That is exactly what happened today.  My sister Mary is awesome.  My sister Lauren is awesome too, but she did not volunteer on this day.  Today's FREE PRETZEL goes to Mary who graciously watched our kids, while Katie and I ran a few errands.  It was only about an hour, but Mary has helped us out so many times that I probably should be giving her a CASE of pretzels.  She was happy to help today and even shared it with the kids and her friend Caitlyn, who came to help as well.  If I had known Caitlyn was coming I would have had one for her too, but knowing I still have 26 days left, chances are she may see a FREE PRETZEL again.
Thanks Mary and Caitlyn!

A challenge has been requested by Dana Lyall, to compare Philly Soft Pretzel Factory with the Pretzel Mart pretzels from the old Pennsauken Mart.  This challenge will happen sometime next week.  I honestly do not know how The Mart pretzels could be better, but I will be impartial and give my fair assessment.  Maybe I will have a few people take part.  Who wants in?

Today was a great day.  Tomorrow is Sunday and although the Lord may have rested, I will be on the prowl again for someone deserving of free deliciousness.  I have no idea what tomorrow will bring.  Maybe I will ask the Lord for help.  Have a great end to your weekend

Until tomorrow......
